Who We Are

​We're a local community organisation in our 5th year & have helped many people learn to understand themselves better, through well-being - emotional healing - mindfulness & meditation.
We believe prevention is better than cure!

What is Inward Bound?
Going Outward Bound encourages individuals to test their physical and emotional limits in challenging outdoor adventure programs. 
Inward Bound encourages an individual to take an inner journey which relates to what’s happening in the present moment with kindness and curiosity. 

Our programme introduces all participants to practical strategies to deal with what life throws at you from a small upset to traumatic events.  

Participants in our programme learn self-awareness, empathy, techniques to calm and focus the mind, and mindful communication – the foundations for success in all areas of life. 

Our programmes also include applying mindfulness skills to daily life, connecting with nature and creative expression.

It has been shown that the impact of implementing the skills learnt on the programme increases self-compassion and life satisfaction, decreased rumination (to chew things over and over) and reactivity, following attending the programme.

Constitution of Inward Bound:
  • To advance the education, health/well-being & self-esteem of community members of Middlesbrough and surrounding areas, through workshops, classes, health events and therapies.

  • To work in partnership with other voluntary and statutory agencies in a common effort in the interest of social welfare and community engagement.
